June 2, 2027: Killifish Brain Aging Workshop organised by Dennis de Bakker
As the field of killifish brain aging matures, new methodologies and resources are emerging at a remarkable pace, including novel transgenic lines, injury models, functional assays, and extensive -omics datasets.
The Killifish Brain Aging Workshop will take place in Brno on June 2, 2027, one day before the Nothobranchius Symposium (June 3-4, 2027). Participants will learn about the latest technological advances first-hand and hear leading experts discuss some of the field’s most compelling open questions, such as:
- Microglia in the killifish brain: fact or fiction?
- Are there sex-specific differences in brain aging, and if so, what are they?
- Why do laboratories use different killifish strains, and should the community work toward standardizing on one or more common strains?
The program will include selected methodology-focused flash talks and panel discussions, as well as a dedicated networking mixer. This will provide an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the field, exchange technologies and expertise, and foster new collaborations.
The registration fee will be €50 (payable from January 2027). Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. Registration for the workshop will apear soon.
Pre-register and join us in Brno!
